Sue Abrams has practised extensively in Family Law throughout her career spanning over 40 years.  Since 1995 when Sue became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, she has practised exclusively in the area of Family Law.

Sue’s many years of experience as a Specialist Family Lawyer have equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the whole range of Family Law issues. Sue has particular expertise and experience in complex Family Law property matters involving Trusts, Companies, Share Option Plans, Superannuation and Pensions.

Sue’s preferred approach to practice is to achieve negotiated outcomes for clients outside the Court system:-

Sue is a founding member, current Vice-President and immediate past Treasurer of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals, a founding member and past-President of Collaborative Professionals NSW, a founding member and past-President of Central Sydney Collaborative Forum, a founding member of Relationships Australia (NSW) Practice Group and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Sue is also a member of AIFLAM and a regular assessor for the National Accreditation Course run by AIFLAM. Sue has also presented various papers to the profession and other professional groups in relation to Collaborative Practice.

Sue has consistently been lauded in Doyle’s Guide as a leading Mediator and Family Law Specialist and in 2020, she was recognised in the Doyle’s Family Law Guide as a Pre-eminent Australian Family Lawyer, a Pre-eminent Sydney Family Lawyer, a Recommended High Value and Complex Property Family Lawyer, a Leading Parenting Family Lawyer in Sydney and a Pre-eminent Family Law Mediator in NSW.

Sue is on the Register of Practitioners of the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She is also a member of The Law Society of New South Wales and The Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
